The Brief

11 & 12 Wellington Place development consists of 2 office blocks with a shared basement. The office blocks will be 10 and 11 storeys high with a shared single-level basement.

The twin structures will have a feature link bridge, a roof top garden and dedicated areas for retail and leisure. 

Our Approach

  • Specialised structural designs and elements were created to accommodate the nature of the use of the building after construction.
  • As the site was situated near busy main roads in Leeds City centre, we carefully planned our
  • We handled the supply and installation of multiple features of the structural package, working with both sub-contractors as well as engineers to safely manage elements such as cellular beam floor construction and cold rolled parapet rails.
  • Off-site intumescent coatings. 
  • Cellular beams were utilised to increase useable office space.

The Outcomes

11 & 12 Wellington Place achieved a BREEAM outstanding rating and it was the first development outside of London that achieved a 5 star NABERS rating for sustainability. In September
2022, 11 & 12 Wellington Place was awarded Sustainable Development of the Year!  

In March 2023, 11 & 12 Wellington Place was shortlisted for two Construction News awards: ‘low carbon project of the year’ and ‘project of the year over £50m’

We asked for feedback for our collaboration at various stages of this project. We gained high scores for our commercial, technical and project performance. This contributes towards our Net Promoter Score of 82.
